Is it ethical to have your elderly loved ones watched and monitored and be alerted every time they even move? Is it safety and independence for them, or just invasion of privacy? This website will explore the pros and cons of Bell’s new home monitoring system.

In February of 2007, Bell launched its new home security service, which would incorporate many of the traditional alarms with new Internet and cell phone connected monitoring systems. The different services included motion detectors and door and window sensors, all of which sending updates to a users email or cell phone. The following pages will describe the services in more detail and the ethical problems with them.
